Question:
Is there a type of person who a mini facelift is most appropriate for? I'm starting to look into getting a facelift but of course I would love to get something less invasive and am wondering if a mini facelift may be right for me.

Answer:
Mini-facelifts are best for those in their 30's to late 40's or early 50's, who have a minimum of laxity in the skin and good tonicity. If there is mild jowling, a mini-facelift is more appropriate than a traditional facelift. A traditional facelift will usually address the neck as well as the face, which the mini addresses the face only. A mini-facelift is less invasive, with a downtime of about 5 – 7 days compared to 10 – 14 days for a traditional facelift. Patients should consult first with a surgeon who is very comfortable, experienced and knowledgeable with both procedures.

Question:
What is the difference between a mini and a mid-face lift?

Answer:
There are differences between the mini-facelift and the mid-facelift. The mid-facelift only addresses the cheeks themselves by moving the fat upwards, towards under the eyes. A mini-facelift addresses the cheek area but also treats the jawline to give it more definition. A mid-facelift cannot achieve that result.

Is Juvederm used for the same problems that Botox is used for, the wrinkles in the forehead?  How does it compare to Botox in price and in length of effects in keeping the face smooth? Is there a better product out yet for the forehead?

Juvederm is not the same as Botox. Juvederm is a filler and as such “fills” folds and lines. But on the forehead you need Botox first. Usually Botox will take care of the lines and give you a smooth foresssssshead. Afterwards if all the lines are not completly gone, then Juvederm can be used.
